IK Multimedia has unveiled its new AmpliTube iRig hardware and software solution for iPod touch, iPhone and iPad. The first part of iRig is a small hardware adapter that lets you plug your electric guitars, bass guitars, or other instruments using a 1/4-inch output into your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad. It also has a one-eight-inch jack for plugging in headphones or running out to an amp or powered speakers. Read more...This hardware combines with a AmpliTube App installed on the device offering software-based amps, stompbox effects, cabinets, and microphones. This application comes in 3 offerings. The free version will include 2 stompboxes, 1 amp+cabinet, 2 microphones. The LE version will include 4 stompboxes, 1 amp+cabinet, 2 microphones for $2.99 More gear can be added to FREE and LE through an in-app purchase of a-la-carte models with stompboxes costing $2.99 / �2.39 each and amplifiers+cabinets for $4.99 each. AmpliTube FULL will include the entire collection of available gear with 10 stompboxes, 5 amps+cabinets and 2 microphones for $19.99.
