Design:

The new iPod touch is made from anodized aluminum and will be available in vibrant minty colors that are aluminum bonded. The colors available are Slate, Silver, Blue, Yellow and Pink. Another new addition is the iPod touch loop which is a kind of wrist wrap. It will come as part of the package when you buy and it will match the color of the iPod touch. The loop will be attached to a small circular metal button on the bottom left corner of the back.

Processor:

At the core the new iPod touch will be powered by a dual-core A5 chip running iOS6. For all you gamers this is a major improvement because the processing power is now 2 times greater and graphics will be 7 times faster as compared to the 4th generation. Also with this new chip the battery life is expected to be 40 hrs music or 8 hours of video on a single charge.

Other features:

Apple has redesigned its earphones and named it has earpods. This will come with the package when you buy new iPod Touch. Another new feature is support for Bluetooth which will enable you to pair with any Bluetooth enabled speakers and headphones. The 30-Pin Dock Connector has also been replaced with a new Lightning connector port.

The new iPod touch will feature a 5MP iSight camera capable of shooting 1080p HD video. There is also a front facing camera allowing you to do FaceTime calls. The camera also has the capability to take wide angle shots with the panorama feature.

Buy new iPod touch:

The new iPod touch will be available in October with pre-orders beginning on Sep 14. The 32GB is priced at $299 and the 64GB is priced at $399. Interestingly there are no 8gb and 26gb version of the new iPod touch but Apple will continue to sell the 4th gen iPod touch at a slightly lower price points.
